About Face Foundation
The About Face Charitable Foundation was established in 2006. This charity focuses on providing care for children and victims of crime. Dr. Moelleken, founder of this 501-c-3 charitable foundation, saw the need to assist patients who were victims of crime, and disadvantaged children in need of reconstructive surgery.
State funding seldom covers the cost of actual surgeries. Dr. Moelleken, through his foundation, offers help with the costs associated with surgery such as anesthesiology and operating room. Dr. Moelleken waives his surgery fee altogether. He is not compensated for any surgery performed through the foundation.
Mark Lowry, CPA, is a business manager who has performed hundreds of hours of work for the foundation. The foundation and IRS paperwork for a 501-c-3 not-for-profit corporation are extensive. We thank Mr. Lowry for providing his services so generously.
Giving back to the community has been important and gratifying for Dr. Moelleken. In addition to performing facial restorations through the foundation, he also spends two months every year performing free surgery for veterans at the West LA Veterans Hospital. These surgeries are part of his UCLA clinical duties, which are apart from the duties of the foundation.
It is the goal of the Foundation to provide high quality plastic surgery services to deserving individuals. If you think you might benefit from the services of The About Face Charitable Foundation, please CLICK HERE.
