JUVEDERM Overview
Plastic surgeons use many anti-aging skincare techniques to correct wrinkles and other signs of aging. One non-surgical method that has become extremely popular is the use of dermal fillers. Dermal fillers include hyaluronic acid and should not be confused with NEUROTOXIN which works through a completely different process. Plastic surgeons refer to the use of dermal fillers as soft tissue augmentation, which is a cosmetic plastic surgery procedure performed to correct eye wrinkles, depressions in the skin, and scarring. The procedure involves injecting a substance, such as hyaluronic acid, into the area being treated to plump or fill it up. With very few exceptions, the result is not usually permanent and touch-up injections may be required every 3-12 months, depending on which substance was injected and your specific body chemistry.
JUVEDERM has been around for more than a decade and is now one of the most popular wrinkle fillers. When injected into facial wrinkles and folds, the JUVEDERM solution acts as a cushioning agent or a scaffolding for your skin, adding structure and volume to depressions. JUVEDERM achieves this beautiful result with its solution of hyaluronic acid gel. The colorless solution mimics the hyaluronic acids found in your skin, hydrating, and replenishing your skin. JUVEDERM comes in three concentrations to handle every problem from deep folds to fine lines. Injected into your dermis, it replenishes the natural hyaluronic acid and hydrates the dermis by absorbing and holding the water molecules and giving back to your skin its volume and initial form. In this way, aging lines are quickly reduced and your lip border instantly lifted and increased, helping to preserve and restore your youthful-looking skin.
Since Restylane was approved as the first hyaluronic-acid based filler in 2003, the market has exploded and hyaluronic acid filler injections are the second most popular cosmetic treatment in the United States after NEUROTOXIN. JUVEDERM has often been called the next big wrinkle treatment within the industry. As with most of today’s fillers, it relies on hyaluronic acid to work but unlike NEUROTOXIN, it is used to treat wrinkles at rest (static) so it is truly possible to treat any wrinkle issues that you may be facing. Unlike other fillers based around hyaluronic acid, JUVEDERM has a higher concentration of it so it is smooth and transparent, lasting much longer than many of the other choices on the market. During clinical trials, patients found the injection to be more comfortable than other fillers although the actual product is very similar to its counterpart, Restylane™. The difference is in production as Restylane™ is a particle filler and JUVEDERM is a gel filler.

If you want to know if JUVEDERM may be the best choice for you in your quest to turn back the hands of time, he will be happy to meet with you and customize a treatment that is exclusive for you. At Neo Surgery Center, our most popular wrinkle fillers are Restylane, and JUVEDERM. Over the years, these Hyaluronic Acid Based Fillers have proven to be safe and effective procedures for the correction of facial lines and scars and they are used extensively to correct mild to moderate nasolabial folds and fine lines around your mouth. They are also used to elevate depressed scars, enhance lips, contour cheek size, and restore facial symmetry. Improvement with hyaluronic acid fillers is temporary and benefits typically lasting from three to six months depending on individual physiology. New collagen formation does occur and this can result in gradual permanent improvements over time with regular treatments.
Depending on the severity of the wrinkles you wish to treat, JUVEDERM comes in different formulas. If you are interested in non-surgical treatments, Dr. Moelleken also offers other facial fillers, like Restylane, , and the popular NEUROTOXIN Cosmetic. A laser treatment, such as laser skin resurfacing, may also work to diminish some types of superficial skin problems so schedule a consultation to determine which skin rejuvenation treatment is best for you. If you want to learn how JUVÉDERM can help you look younger, call today and let Dr. Moelleken and his professional staff discuss Dermal Filler options with you.
